Adam Smith International is opening a Southern Africa corporate office as part of its further investment in the Southern Africa region. It is looking to build the new team through appointing a Manager within the new Southern Africa Team.

You will play a key role in business development and subsequent project management, in particular to:

  • Lead on market research effort, for example market sizing and analysis of client strategies;
  • Support in the creation of ASI’s Southern Africa strategy;
  • Map key potential stakeholders in countries of interest and maintain close communications with ASI’s Country Coordinators;
  • Establish and nurture relationships with those stakeholder counterparts;
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals and Expressions of Interest;
  • Devise innovative and successful approaches to proposals and projects;
  • Convey the quality of our approach and of our teams compellingly to donors and clients through writing and delivering clear, accessible and well-structured documents and presentations;
  • Plan and coordinate effort across proposal teams and provide effective bid leadership;
  • Lead in the assembly of technical teams who can deliver these approaches effectively;
  • Ensure the financial requirements of the firm are met in our proposals, including good planning and budgeting and negotiating effectively with associate consultants and sub-contractors;
  • Build effective relationships with clients from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds;
  • Manage the successful delivery of projects won by Southern Africa;
  • Communicate the key risks and issues, updates and milestones to project directors and stakeholders clearly, concisely and in a timely fashion;
  • Maintain awareness of and conversance with Southern Africa governance topics;
  • Develop skills in selected technical advisory areas and seek to apply them in practical project situations.
