Chemonics seeks a chief of party to lead the anticipated five year USAID Macroeconomic Technical Assistance Project in Egypt. The project aims to support the Egyptian government in developing fiscal and budgetary reforms based on international standards and best practices. It will focus on improving cash management, budgeting, and expenditure control at a number of ministries, particularly the Ministry of Finance, and on promoting greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide overall project leadership and management oversight
  • Manage local and international staff
  • Provide technical direction and ensure strategic long-term vision of the project
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Egyptian government, USAID, and other international and regional partners

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business, economics, finance, public administration, or relevant technical field
  • Minimum 10 years of international development experience. including leading teams; leadership experience on USAID or other international donor projects preferred
  • Significant experience in fiscal and budgetary reform or other relevant field
  • Excellent management, communication, intercultural, and diplomatic skills
  • Experience working and collaborating with a broad range of government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Egyptian context; experience working in Egypt or the Middle East region preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent English skills required; Arabic language ability desirable but not required
