PATH seeks a Deputy Chief of Party for the upcoming “The Integrated Health Program (IHP-DRC) for the DRC.”

This program seeks to strengthen the capacity of Congolese institutions and communities to deliver quality, integrated health services to sustainably improve the health status of the Congolese population.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the COP in the management of the various technical components of the activity.
  • Ensure that activity components are results-oriented, that deliverables are high quality, and that reporting is relevant and timely.
  • Focus on achieving results in all areas on schedule and ensuring synergies and cohesion between the various result areas.

Participate and engage in technical meetings and maintain positive relationships with GDRC officials, partners, and implementing partners.

Required Skills

Required skills and experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in donor-funded project management in post-conflict or fragile states of which at least 7 years’ overseas experience with technical and/or operational issues related to a mix of public health and development work, policy development, and community engagement.
  • The D/COP must have at least 5 years’ experience in program management, either as COP, D/COP, or comparable role.
  • Experience in the African region, West/Central Africa and DRC or other fragile and conflict affected country is preferred but not required.
  • The D/COP must demonstrate competency in negotiation and communication skills.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • The DCOP must language skills at the following Foreign Service Institute proficiency level or equivalent: French Level IV; and English Level IV.

Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in international development, public/business administration, international relations, other social sciences, or a similar relevant field.
  • A master’s degree may be substituted by a bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of relevant experience.
