Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been part of its identity for more than 35 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. Location: Ethiopia – Based in Addis with travel to the various bases

Length of contract: 12 months – starting end of August / Beginning of September

Context of the position:

Working conditions good with significant workload for 2017 given financial volume but ensuring that programs are still ongoing in a timely manner. Management of 3 national staffs : country log manager, country HR manager and country finance manager ; security situation in Addis stable though still under emergency state. To be noted that the mission will shift from France HQ to US as of January 1st 2018, which means that a lot of prepration will have to be conducted prior to the swap.

The position:

You will ensure the overall management of the Support functions Heads of Departments (finance, HR and logistics), ensure the oversight of financial and administrative activities to reduce risks and ensure compliance with AAH’s, donors’ and GoE’s rules. You will supervise the Support functions department and ensure the proper recording, documentation, control, monitoring and reporting of financial, administrative, HR and logistics operations. You will be responsible for the provision of effective logistics, human resources, admin and IT services to all AAH programs in Ethiopia.

The applicant:

Education: Master in Business Administration or equivalent. Type of professional experience requested: Admin coordinator or DCD support. Experience of logistics and HR management. Audit experience a big plus.

Language : English Fluent (written and spoken). Donors : Knowledge of various donors’ regulation and policies

Tools : proficiency in Microsoft office and good command of financial software (knowledge of saga a plus but not compulsory). We are looking for a solid experience of financial accounting, reporting and grants and contract management processes; knowledge or capacity to learn quickly logistics procedures; Experience in HR management; Solid analytical and problem solving and Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt local practices to global standards.

Status:

Gross monthly salary ranging from 1 947 € to 2 497 € depending on relevant experience. Family Status.

Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective or individual accommodation, medical insurance . 25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
