SFCG Morocco

Since 2001, Search for Common Ground has been working with Moroccan society to transform the manner in which people and institutions resolve conflicts, and to develop a culture of mediation in Morocco as a way to reduce the social costs and risks which are caused by internal conflict, without alienating Moroccan culture.

To achieve this, Search for Common Ground in Morocco

  1. Enhances the capacity of individuals and institutions to resolve conflicts cooperatively;
  2. Develops a culture of dialogue and mediation by bringing together key actors which includes civil society, the government and the media.

Summary of the Position

Supervised by the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation coordinator, SFCG – Morocco seeks a Design, Monitoring and Evaluation assistant starting as soon as possible. The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) Consultant will support SFCG’s DM&EA Manager and the program. S/he will be required to work closely with the DMEA Manager, the DM&E team and program departments.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist M&E team in developing baseline survey methodology including survey questionnaire and checklist for FGD/KII;
  • Assist M&E team in data entry, analysis and preparation of draft report after data collection;
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the DME update, including writing original blog posts on relevant topics;
  • Organize and support events, trainings and other informational presentations to Search staff;
  • Support field-team in analysis of raw data in baseline studies;
  • Support the development of learning materials from SFCG programming, including best and emerging practices, lessons learned, key evaluation findings etc;

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Requirements

  • Interest, education, or experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, Peace-building , International Development, or other related fields;
  • Interest, education or experience in Data Management, Information Management, Information Systems;
  • Experience in information gathering and research – book, journal and internet;
  • Excellent written and oral English and Arabic communication skills and the ability to draft, edit and proofread; and,
  • Excellent computer skills (including Word, Excel, various Web 2.0 tools).

Desirable Skills

  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Creative and thorough approach to work;
  • Interest in the evaluation of conflict resolution interventions.

Search for Common Ground was established in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2001. SFCG’s DRC program runs multiple programs to enable Congolese at all levels of society to transform conflict without violence and build durable peace. SFCG in DRC has approximately 110 staff located in offices in Kinshasa, Bukavu, Goma, Bunia and Kalemie and collaborates with partners in all provinces. SFCG DRC’s programs use diverse peacebuilding tools including mediation, dialogue, capacity building, media productions and training,   participatory theatre, mobile cinema, comic books, joint action projects, public forums, and arts and culture approaches.  The program tackles various issues across a range of sectors, including governance, repatriation and reintegration of returnees, security sector reform, media training and professionalization, sexual and gender based violence as well as regional cohesion.
