Specific responsibilities include:
- Support PATH MalariaCare project staff with driving services and provide support to ensure smooth daily operations in the areas of logistics and travel.
- Ensure that the vehicle is road worthy, has adequate fuel and documents relating to the vehicle are valid or renewed before driving.
- Ensure that the vehicle is maintained and taken for service when due and report any damage or fault on the vehicle before or after any trip.
- Maintain vehicle logbook and keep record of all journeys made duly signed by the responsible officer.
- Provide support to logistic coordinator and administration unit as and when required.
- And any other duties as may be required from time to time.
Required Skills
- A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Minimum of 5 years driving experience in a donor funded project or international organization with knowledge of proper, safe operation of 4×4 vehicles.
- Possession of a clean valid Malawian Driving License with additional defensive driving training.
- Must have good organizational skills, with ability to assess mechanical problems and perform light preventive maintenance of the vehicle
- Have good interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels in both oral and written communication.
- Be a team player, highly disciplined, discrete, trustworthy and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Malawi.
