James House Child and Youth Care Centre runs two pioneering residential treatment centres for adolescents (age 14 – 16) with frequent challenging behaviour.

James House seeks an Educator to be based in the Western Cape.

This position offers a competitive salary and a dynamic and exciting working environment.

Requirements:

  • A recognised teachers Diploma / B.Ed. degree / B Degree capped with a Post graduate teachers certificate or diploma
  • Registered with The South African Council of Educators
  • Suitably Trained in the CAPS Curriculum (Intermediate and Senior phases) essential
  • Familiar with national educational policies and requirements especially assessment
  • Involved in extracurricular activities
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Suitable to work with behaviourally challenged learners
  • Ability to work in multi-grade classroom setting
  • Special needs education is an added advantage
  • Driver’s license is an advantage
  • Innovative, adaptable and future based
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office
