Executive Administrator Intern

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Duration: Fixed term up to 30th June 2017

Salary: Stipend of R5000pm

Purpose of the Role:

This role will support the Executive Coordinator to provide an effective and efficient administrative function to the Chief Executive Unit and International Board whilst gaining experience working in an International Development organisation and developing new skills.

Key responsibility areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and coordinate Chief Executive’s calendar and contacts database
  • Arrange national and international travel for Chief Executive
  • Arrange logistics for international meetings, usually remotely
  • Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Manage electronic files and records to ensure relevant information is retrieved and prepared for use
  • Type up notes, format documents, photocopying and other support needs as required
  • Minute meetings when necessary
  • Processing expense claims
  • Assist with processing of payments to suppliers – including obtaining relevant authorization and coding invoices etc.
  • Follow up on supplier queries
  • Records management- including filing all finance records
  • Maintain and manage the Executive’s intranet site with up to date information

Person Specification:

  • Studying towards or completed a degree in Business Administration
  • Exceptional IT skills especially word processing, outlook, excel, PowerPoint and internet research skills
  • Proven initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm in responding to changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Administrative work experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teams
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and interested in learning within a political, changing and diverse work environment

ActionAid spent Rs 50 lakh for the making of the movie.ActionAid also supported Shyam Benegal's 'Samar', starring Rajit Kapoor and Rajeshwari Sachdev. It is based on the book Unheard Voices: Stories of Forgotten Lives, written by Harsh Mander. The film raises issues about Dalits
