The Future Leaders Programme provides our Fellows a strong sense of social justice and integrity while producing approaching change in South African society in an effective and innovative impact. The programme focuses on developing writing and oratory abilities of our Fellows, as well as an emphasis on values, such as pluralism, justice, equality, integrity, and excellence. The main ambitions of the programme are:

  • To develop individuals who can positively contribute and strengthen civil society
  • To develop effective and visionary public servants
  • To develop communication skills, soft and practical skills
  • To build up confidence and self-awareness

Some of the themes that are covered in the programme:

  • Law & Public Policy
  • South African Political Parties & Entities
  • NGOs & Civil Society Organisations
  • Political Philosophy
  • Economics
  • Project Management
  • Leadership

ASRI seeks to appoint a Future Leaders Programme Coordinator to be based in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

The main purpose of this position is to coordinate and direct the activities of the programme and proactively develop the Fellows.

Requirements:

  • Degree/diploma
  • Experience in working with youth/graduates
  • Experience and knowledge on the political landscape of South Africa
  • NGO and Government experience
  • Leadership experience – teamwork, conflict management, developing programmes, training and development experience
  • Communication and networking – contacting and liaising with speakers
  • Counselling and support for youth
