The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Global Planning Manager to be based in either our London, Nairobi or Dakar offices – or any existing Save the Children office. This role is offered on the basis of a 2 year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

This is a new role that has been created under the wider Supply Chain Transformation strategy and will focus on improving the forecasting and planning of our Supply Chain requirements worldwide, ensuring transparency of forward supply requirements at the regional and global level, and delivering the associated improvements in our capabilities, systems, policies and procedures. Save the Children responded to 25 major humanitarian emergencies in 2016, and this role will cover both steady state and emergency response forecasting and planning.

In order to be successful you will bring/be:

  • Experience within a global, multicultural organisation
  • Substantial experience within all technical areas of planning and forecasting, whether that be in the public or private sector
  • A detailed knowledge of industry standards, best practice, preparedness and cost effectiveness
  • The ability to provide training and capacity building for our planning capability
  • The ability to synthesise and analyse complex information, and make clear informed decisions
  • Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team, including working with, and supporting, a diverse community of stakeholders at a distance.

On a personal level you’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, cultural awareness and a strong results orientation.

  • All children learn from a quality basic education and that,
  • Violence against children is no longer tolerated
