An experienced, proactive individual is sought to be responsible for the coordination of donor proposals and reports, and project knowledge management systems within the DR Congo Programme.

The role will involve closely working with project staff, advisors and managers in drafting and editing donor proposals and reports and ensuring compliance with various donor regulations, Tearfund policies and government processes. The post holder will lead on deriving learning and good practice, documenting project reviews, evaluations and success stories. This position will also require regular travel to DRC Programme field sites.

Proven experience with donors and multilateral donor mechanisms is essential for this role, as is experience in grant management, proposal development (including logframe, theory of change and budgets) donor reporting, communications, monitoring and evaluation, project cycle management and implementation. Applicants will have a graduate degree in a related field or qualification in development, international relations, communications or journalism.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and representation and networking abilities. The post holder will be a highly adaptable team player with excellent written and verbal communication in English and French.

The nature of the work will require the successful candidate to apply for a Police / Criminal Records check. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs. We would expect applicants to be able to demonstrate a clear and specific desire to work in this country. All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to child protection issues.

Tearfund is a UK Christian relief and development agency which works in over 50 countries. It is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee.Tearfund supports poor communities, marginalised groups, vulnerable adults, children, churches, education, HIV victims, conflicts, injustice, hunger, water and sanitation.

The charity was created out of the Evangelical Alliance (EA) and the Evangelical Refugee Fund created by the United Nations.

The organisation was originally called The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund Committee (abbreviated to TEAR Fund).

George Hoffman headed up the fund.[In January 1969 Cliff Richard did two fundraising concerts for Tearfund at London's Royal Albert Hall.:29 He has served as the charity's Vice President and in 1999 served as its president.In 2009 Richard gave the proceeds of his first 50th anniversary concert in Wembley Arena to Tearfund.

Tearfund was registered as a charity on 6 March 1973.

Tearfund Ireland was launched as an independent charity in 2008 and now works closely with Tearfund UK as a sister organisation.
