Location(s) of internship:Kinshasa, DRC

Will the intern be receiving a stipend?:  Yes

Will the Intern travel? (local or international):   No

Description of internship project:

  • The intern will have the opportunity to learn as part of PATH’s team and Human Resources staff in a very challenging working environment

Internship goals and learning objectives/benefit to the intern:   

 

  • The intern will have the opportunity to learn how to coordinate basics HR activities and work on administrative documents.
  • The intern will be able to refine its knowledge and understanding of HR used in a Non-profit organization context
  • The intern will have the opportunity to join a team of professionals focused on better HR Administration knowledge. 

    

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:    

 

  • There will be regular hands-on exposure to a human resources department of a global organization with a focus on HR Administrative tasks.
  • The intern should gain experience coordinating multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced human resources environment.

 

Proposed activities:    

 

  • Develop your skill set and professional work style with various colleagues and mentors both internal and external
  • Develop and Maintain HR Compliance Knowledge
  • Improve your communications skill set for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop a current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations in DRC
  • Learn to type and proofread memos, documents and correspondence for department related issues
  • Learn to develop basic filing system

  

Learning outcomes (how the Intern’s performance will be evaluated):  

 

Performance from the intern will be reviewed regularly by the HRBP and an exit interview will be conducting to share detailed feedback on performance at the end of the internship. This will include assessment of the following key indicators:

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to show accurate processing of paperwork and other administrative aspects related to HR.
  • Ability to show initiative and some creativity

Required skills and experience:

  • A degree in HR or equivalent
  • Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
  • Good written and oral communication skills both in French and English
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Less than 1 year working in HR
  • Previous experience working in International organization context preferred

Must have legal authorization to work in the DRC.
