JOB PURPOSE:
The Programme Officer will provide administrative support to the Save the Children South Africa’s Programmes Team in terms coordination of programme logistics, planning of the training activities, procurement of services and materials and coordination of the programme team’s travelling. The project officer will be responsible for liaising with other support service units within the organisation to ensure proper coordination between the Programme’s team and other departments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, planning, monitoring, reporting, research and evaluation activities of the SCSA programmes.
  • Management of the administration of the whole Programmes Unit (i.e contractual database, MoUs and partner agreements, relevant correspondence and documentation);
  • Coordinate national and international travel arrangements for all Programmes Team.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the recruitment and induction programme of the newly appointed programmes team
  • Manage and coordinate the SCSA Programme work-plans including administration of all programmes;
  • Preparing, facilitate and complete all procurement processes for all programmes;
  • Contribute to stakeholder management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Child Protection Systems reports AND maintain the database of Child Protection referral and feedback.
  • Develop and Maintain the database of the organisation’s implementation, advocacy and strategic partners and/or stakeholders.
  • Main a sound communication flow between the Programme Staff and the entire SCSA
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement of the Programme’s training and IEC materials.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the Programme Director

Person Specification: Essential

  • Completed Matriculation
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word
  • Experience in working within the INGO/NGO sector
  • Experience in working with children; civil society organisations and government counterparts

Qualifications and experience:

  • Post-matriculation certificate or diploma/degree in Business Administration; development or social studies, advanced project management or similar
  • Knowledge of M&E concept and tools
  • Extensive Experience on facilitation of child participation initiatives and children focus groups
  • Experience in developing case studies,  realising concept documents and literature reviews
  • Experience in developing work plans and results-based management concept and tools
  • Experience of Basic financial management or project financial administration
