Overview:
International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a US-based international development consulting company, is seeking an experienced Somali Project Coordinator for the USAID Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) and Office of Food for Peace (FFP) Somalia Monitoring & Learning Project (SMLP), working in Nairobi, Kenya and in various locations in Somalia. The anticipated start date is early October 2017. IBTCI is seeking a skilled development and humanitarian assistance professional who has previous experience in a similar Project Coordinator or equivalent role.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Chief of Party include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for managing data collection and data verification activities in Somalia
- Coordinate field activities
- Train data collection staff
- Verify collected data
- Ensure accurate data is submitted on time and according to requirements
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact with public, private, and civil society leaders and groups concerning data collection and surveying for project verification and monitoring
- Significant experience in the humanitarian, transition, or development field, including extensive use and application of qualitative inquiry methods and results
- He/she must have previous experience working in Somalia
Minimum Requirements:
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytic skills, interpersonal skills, and team management skills.
- He/she must be Somali
- Written and spoken English fluency
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: The DCOP/M&E Specialist will directly supervise the Project Coordinator and Senior Reporting Specialist.
Travel: Travel to Somalia may be required.
