Save the Children South Africa are proud to be part of a consortium with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Save the Children International (SCI) and Wits School of Public Health (University of the Witwatersrand) to implement a regional project “SRHR-HIV Knows No Borders”. The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (ASRHR)-Migration Project Manager will coordinate the implementation of the “SRHR-HIV Knows No Borders” project for Save the Children South Africa in Gauteng (Ekurhuleni) and Mpumalanga (Nkomazi). The position will oversee the implementation of national, provincial and local interventions and ensure their effectiveness and quality. The ASRHR-Migration Project Manager will be managed, on a day to day functional basis, by the Gauteng Provincial Manager for implementation purposes and to facilitate progress of the work conducted. The ASRHR-Migration Project Manager will directly report to the Health and Nutrition Programme Manager, to strengthen technical implementation and provide management support.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the baseline and end line assessment studies that will be conducted in each respective Province (by Wits School of Public Health);
- Informed by the baseline assessment, design the implementation plan for the project;
- Manage the design, planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of project activities within the two provinces to achieve results against set objectives and key performance indicators;
- Manage the project budget, maintaining positive expenditure within a set timeframe and provide regular, accurate financial and narrative reporting;
- Directly manage the Project Co-ordinator also based in the Gauteng (Johannesburg) office;
- Manage and supervise service providers/consultants as required;
- Co-ordinate the development of resources and materials required for the project capacity building activities;
- Manage all procurement processes required for the project activities, including training activities;
- Facilitate data collection efforts and draw on monitoring and evaluation data to inform and re-direct project implementation, thus to ensure good quality reporting, monitoring, evaluation and accountability work in collaboration with the MEAL Manager.
- Knowledge of the policies and programmes addressing the health and migration needs of adolescents and young people in South Africa;
- Identify and manage risk mitigation throughout the project;
- Provide input to the learning agenda of the SCSA organisation from drawing from the experience in the project;
- Maintain timely donor liaison through written reports and updates;
- Ensure smooth coordination and communication between all involved project stakeholders including all relevant governmental departments and other relevant NGO and inter-agency partners in both provinces;
- Drive budget holder and project review meetings on a regular basis;
- Any other related responsibilities that the Health and Nutrition Programme Manager and the Gauteng Provincial Manager may require.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health, social sciences or related field;
- At least five years of professional experience in the child and adolescent health sector (preferred experience of working with migration affected communities);
- Recognised Project Management qualification;
- Experience in working with South African government departments and external health and migration stakeholders;
- Experience working within an NGO;
- Current driver’s license.
