About the role

We are seeking to recruit a HR professional with a background in Francophone Africa coupled with a working level English proficiency, to enable them to support some of our Anglophone country programmes.  This role will be based in any of the following countries where Christian Aid has an office (DRC, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe).

Reporting to the Regional HR Manager for Africa, you will work within a global HR team to provide prompt, professional and sound guidance to Country offices ensuring adherence to Christian Aid policies, compliance to labour law and best practice. You will consistently and proactively deliver a high quality HR service and contribute to the successful achievement of our overarching strategy, Partnership for change.

In this role, you will provide support to managers and country HR staff on all HR related operations including but not exclusive to recruitment and selection, induction, employee relations, reward management, performance management, exit management and ensuring effective management of employee data. You will contribute to the improvement of HR processes to maintain the HR team’s excellent and efficient service. You will also contribute and/or lead projects supportive to the implementation of the global and regional HR Strategy.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, approachable and adaptable. You will demonstrate an appreciation of organizational corporate objectives and be adaptable to organizational culture. You will also possess demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service on a timely basis to meet business needs and openness to learning in particular in relation to the diversified labour contexts in Africa.

You are qualified to a degree level, with the additional qualification in a HR-related discipline or the equivalent HR experience coupled with a sound knowledge of Employment Law as well as HR best practice.
