Based in the “Riviera” of South Africa, we are a team of more than 80 people situated in the centre of Cape Town. Most staff walk or cycle to the office however for those located in surrounding suburbs the train station is only 100 metres from the office and two of the main bus stations are only a few minutes’ walk from the office.
Our Cape Town office is diverse and dynamic, home to a number of teams including renewable energy – wind and solar, buildings, transport, water and environment. As a consultancy, our work is normally on behalf of developers, investors and financing institutions.
Our renewables team work globally and are involved on projects across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, however they have had huge success in the Africa region. Our solar team is involved in all seven CSP projects that have been awarded to date under the REIPPP programme. We are also busy with several PV projects in South Africa and other countries nearby, such as Mozambique, Kenya and Zambia. The wind team is involved in 22/34 preferred bidder projects that have been awarded under the REIPPP programme, and is also busy working on projects in Cape Verde, Mozambique, Namibia, Egypt as well as the largest wind farm in Africa – Lake Turkana (310MW) located in the north of Kenya.
Cape Town is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Table Mountain, one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, on the other side. There is a vast offer for leisure activities and you can be in the middle of nature within a 10 minute drive. In less than an hours drive from the city, you can taste some of the best South African wines, swim with penguins or even paraglide from Lion’s Head to land on the beach of Seapoint.
Our sports and social club makes the most of this incredible location and organises regular events outside of the office including beach volley-ball and dragon-boat racing while staff also enjoy hiking, rock-climbing, kitesurfing and football. There is always an opportunity to socialise outside of work – not to mention the mandatory braais which happen on a regular basis!
