Ashinaga is an NGO that focuses on providing high potential orphaned students from around the world with educational opportunities. The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) is Ashinaga’s flagship project in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its mission is to contribute to the region’s development by providing orphaned students with the education, network, and opportunities necessary to become leaders in their home countries. We invest in students who want to study internationally and then return home to make a positive difference in their country and community.

Ashinaga is looking for a South African recruitment agent. The role is part time and requires around 1.2 day’s work (10 hours equivalent) per week over a four month period (mid October to mid February). The compensation for this role is $300USD a month. In October we will fly the recruitment agent out to Uganda for 5 days recruitment agent training where we share our national recruitment strategies and provide marketing materials such as posters, fliers and business cards (all trip related expenses paid).

The role involves spreading the word of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative to orphaned students in South Africa by visiting Secondary Schools, Teacher’s Associations, Orphanages, Government Departments and NGOs. The recruitment agent is also asked to publicise the Ashinaga Africa Initiative through popular media outlets (radio, newspapers, television), for which a stipend of $150USD per month is provided.

Ashinaga is looking for an individual with excellent work experiences in the youth sector (2 years minimum), good connections with the above listed sectors and marketing experience. We want an individual who is comfortable engaging with a range of persons (government figures to youth leaders) and who is willing to go the extra mile.
