Responsibilities

Palladium seeks to recruit a well-qualified Strategic Information (SI) Associate with experience in health information systems to support the Procurement and Supply Chain Strengthening Project II (PSSP II) in Uganda. Under PSSP II, Palladium will provide technical assistance and programming support to Medical Access Uganda for improved data collection and system integration in support of Uganda?s health supply chain. By integrating data sources and improving the quality, accessibility, and use of data, PSSP IIwill contribute to improving healthcare quality in Uganda and the information available for decision-making within the supply chain.

The SI Associate will be responsible for supporting all strategic information and data demand and information use (DDIU) activities. S/he will assist the Health Informatics Officer to provide insight for system design. The SI Associate will also conduct training and capacity building activities.

Key Job Functions

  • Support business analysis and requirements gathering activities; document and validate system and analytical requirements
  • Support and provide training, capacity building, and mentoring for data entry/collection, data management, IT skills, and data analysis to the supported sites? staff
  • Conduct relevant technical assistance visits to supported sites as indicated
  • Provide quality control/assurance strategies for data from supported sites
  • As necessary, participate in data analysis and report compilation at the supported sites on all required indicators
  • Backup data entry servicesat various supported sites where a backlog may exist
  • Participate in implementation of activities in work plans, meetings for shared experiences, and additional trainings as required
  • Support all monitoring and evaluation for PSSP II Project
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • Degree in informatics, public health, computer science, information technology or business.
  • At least three years? relevant professional experience in information technology and/or health informatics.
  • Demonstrated experience in training and mentorship.
  • Knowledge of data demand and information use (DDIU) concepts.
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and processes, and demonstrated experience documenting system and analytical requirements in support of software design
  • Attention to detail
  • Good writing and communication skills
