Street Children Program Director (For Egyptian Nationals Only) 212 views0 applications


Type of Contract: 1 year contract renewable up to 3 years.

To ensure the smooth and optimum running of the Street Children Program and the implementation of institutional donors projects.

1- Overall Program Supervision

  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, the PD supervises the implementation of project activities and roll out of new projects
  • Ensure that all projects are being implemented with best quality of services and training
  • Participate to the Street Children Program strategic decision
  • Ensure that children are receiving best quality of services and care.
  • Ensure Case management is running smoothly
  • Ensure child protection is being implemented and procedures followed.
  • Centralize and ensure use of all internal guidelines and standards of procedures are used (curriculums, guidebooks, forms, project document….)

2- Institutional donor projects monitoring

  • The Program Director is responsible for the smooth running of institutional donor projects (3 years EU funded program + 2 years UNICEF funded program)
  • Ensure the institutional donor projects reporting to donors (with support of HQ)
  • Ensure the smooth relationship with donors representatives in Cairo (in coordination with CD and HQ)
  • Ensures all public relations, presentations, technical meetings with institutional donors in Cairo (in coordination with CD and HQ)
  • Work in close collaboration with FACE Finance Director to monitor Institutional donor projects budget and financial reports

3- Financial/accounting management:

  • Support the PM to supervise the Program expenditures and ensure transparent financial practices.
  • Ensure donor budgets are spend according to technical plan and transparently in accordance to their financial procedures.
  • Review the monthly budget executed by accountant and FD and ensure no overspending or under spending.
  • Contribute to budget design for new proposals with PM.
  • Report to FACE Country Director in Egypt on issues or discrepancies.

4- Human Resource Management and Development

  • Supervise internal and external training/capacity building work Coordinated by PM .
  • Ensure the PM is advising and supervising the Team Leaders (TLs) in preparation and updating of staff development plans.
  • Provide technical advise with PMs on staff recruitment, dismissals, training requirements, and evaluation.
  • Oversee annual staff appraisals by PMs and conduct PM appraisals.
  • Flexibility to travel abroad (occasionally) to training if requested by management.

5- Fundraising for supporting programs and Administration (in close collaboration with CD)

  • Participate to fundraising activities coordinated by FACE
  • Accompany donor agencies/visitors to visit the projects.
  • Occasional contact with donor agencies for fundraising and follow up.
  • Keep regular contact with National Council of Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) and attend meetings when required with PM.
  • Attend all Ministerial Task Force meetings for the project advancement in collaboration with the FACE Country Director.
  • In Collaboration with PM, create partnerships and mutually beneficial collaboration with other services, NGO’s and manage relationships.

6- Reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and problem solving

  • In collaboration with PM and CD, prepare strategic plans and annual implementation plans.
  • Supervise PM in the preparation of quarterly reports And specific donors reports.
  • Short weekly Management Meeting with PM.
  • Supervise, approve and sign off any budgets or financial reports written by the Financial Director.
  • Annual meeting with full Salam team for annual report.
  • Monthly meeting with PM and Team Leaders.
  • participate to the organisation of internal and external project evaluations.
  • Solve the work problems/conflicts related to staff or related people.

7- Networking:

In coordination with CD, the Program Director is responsible for making and strengthening relationships and networking with relevant institutions, agencies and NGOs by attending meetings, seminars, workshops, events, and other activities; as well as looking to develop, strengthen and grow the project by using personal initiative and creativity.

Requirements:

  1. At least 5 years in similar management position
  2. Very good written and spoken English and Arabic
  3. Experience in writing proposals to institutional donors.
  4. Ability to manage big teams and to work in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
