Society for Family Health (SFH) is a South African affiliate of Population Services International (PSI), an international NGO network operational in over 70 countries. SFH in South Africa concentrates on issues of HIV/ AIDS. As part of their HIV/AIDS control efforts, SFH is using social marketing to motivate behaviour change with respect to consistent condom use, HIV testing and other safer behaviours.

RESPONSIBILITIES include:
 Warehousing

  • Responsible for security and safekeeping of stock in Johannesburg warehouse and sole key holder
  • Receives and stocks product from suppliers and perform incoming quality inspections
  • Assures accurate quantities of product were received by comparing appropriate paperwork, data displayed on manual key-in/hand-held scanner, and matching product numbers. Question and resolve discrepancies as required
  •  Pick and pack stock and arrange it as it is delivered and dispatched in the warehouse
  • Identifies product shortages/damages from delivery upon receipt of product
  • Co-ordinate monthly stock in the SFH warehouses
  • Ensure proper stock rotation-FIFO process in the warehouse
  • Co-Ordinate and prioritise large volumes of stock efficiently and effectively
  • Prevent shrinkage and to investigate stock losses in the SFH warehouses
  • Ensure that all problems are brought to the attention of the relevant senior managers as a matter of urgency
  • Track stock in the event of a delay or loss of stock
  • Perform monthly stock take and signoff in conjunction with the relevant manager assigned
  • Manage all promotional items in terms of receiving, counting and dispatch there of
  • Capture stock movement on Lawson system
  • Collect monthly report from TFD on a monthly basis
  • Lawson requestor and capturing of requisitions

QUALIFICATIONS include

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant warehouse qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in previous similar position
  • Detail oriented – pays attention to details at each customer’s location, with extra attention to any special requests.
  • Valid driver’s licence with the ability to travel when required

Using a total market approach (using social marketing, free distribution and cost recovery services) SFH will be implementing projects that will target:50% of the burden of disease in Nigeria 50% of persons within the lower 3 wealth quintiles, who will have access to SFH products or interventions A 5% increase in DALYs yearly with 2012 as the baseline SFH will also have a 10% decrease in cost per DALY averted over the period of 2013-2017 using the 2012 value as deadline, and will have generated a 20% increase in unrestricted funds by 2017 compared to 2012. SFH will have developed a plan to spin off a subsidiary conducting logistics, research training, costs recovery products and specific interventions aimed at the for-profit sector including the oil and manufacturing sectors.
