ICCO Cooperation is a global, non-governmental organization. We work towards a world  in which people can live in dignity and well-being, a world without poverty and injustice.

The number of people living under the absolute poverty line of 1, 25 dollar per day is decreasing. That is the good news. But almost 1 billion people live still in extreme poverty and hunger. 2 billion people experience malnutrition. Moreover the gap between rich and poor is growing. Many people, and young people not in the least, are excluded from economic and social opportunities. Their basic human rights are denied.We believe a world with less poverty is possible. To achieve this we embrace two core principles:securing sustainable livelihoods and justice and dignity for all.These principles are interrelated and explained in our strategy paper 'Towards a Just and Dignified World'. A livelihood without rights is not sustainable and dignity comes with a livelihood in which rights are respected.  The core values of ICCO are compassion, justice and stewardship, expressions of our Christian roots.

ICCO Cooperation is a global cooperation with roots that go back to 1964. The mission of the organization is to work towards a sustainable society in which poverty, inequality and injustice have been eradicated, and men, women and children can live in dignity and security. The members of the ICCO Cooperation are Edukans, the Protestant Church of the Netherlands (Kerk in Actie) and the association co-Prisma. With approximately 300 employees (60% non-Dutch) and a budget of some 100 million euros, ICCO Cooperation offers worldwide financial support, lobby and brokerage services within a coherent, joint programmatic framework. ICCO Cooperation works with local non-governmental organizations, the private sector, churches and networks that work towards creating sustainable economic development, democracy and peace, access to basic services, food & nutrition security and climate mitigation. ICCO’s operations consist of a Global Office in The Netherlands (Utrecht) and 7 Regional Offices around the globe.
