South African Labour Bulletin

The South African Labour Bulletin comes from a proud tradition of 40 years of independent progressive publishing. It is the only alternative anti-apartheid publication which survived into South Africa’s new democracy.

It provides cutting edge information and critical analysis and debate on a wide range of social issues that confront South Africans today and which is not covered in the mainstream media. This includes articles on labour matters, politics, economics, health, education, sport, youth, women, HIV/AIDS, the environment, culture as well as reviews of new books.

Through its bold reportage the Bulletin aims to advance the discourse of progressive politics and promote social justice and the interests of the working class.

It is a bi-monthly journal that comes in a well illustrated, lively format which is quick to read and easy to handle. Its readership includes trade union membership, researchers, academics, students, members of the business community, government departments and a wide international audience.

The SALB is governed by an editorial board chaired by Ebrahim-Khalil Hassen. The editor, Elijah Chiwota, is a media and labour researcher.
