Abt Associates is seeking qualified individuals for three (3) Country Lead Positions, to work on a multi-country programme in East Africa and South Asia. The County Leads will be based in either Malawi, Mozambique or Zambia.

3 x Country Lead positions in Africa

  • Country Lead Malawi

  • Country Lead Zambia

The Country Leads will oversee all technical and operational activities in their respective Country and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, specifically the Country Government. The Country Leads will report directly to the Regional Manager – East Africa. The positions will be full-time, fixed term contracts for a period of three years. Estimated commencement May/June 2019.

The Country Leads will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all technical assistance activities in Country
  • Managing operations in Country, including staff and consultant inputs
  • Developing local and national expertise/capacity and deliver and operate in a diverse and complex multicultural environmental
  • Building influential networks and relationships with key stakeholders including

The Country Leads will have:

  • Experience working in Country, preferably with the Government
  • Proven track record of successfully working with national ministries of health to implement Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) programmes in low and middle-income countries
  • Experience managing programmes in multicultural, complex environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience implementing health systems strengthening interventions
  • Demonstrated ability to build influential networks and relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results and impact within specified timelines
  • Fluent in Country language and English
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and regionally)
