See also www.helvetas.orgHELVETAS Ethiopia is presently looking for motivated and competent professional for the following position for a project entitled “Semien Gondor Resilience Programme” to be implemented in Amhara NRS.

Reporting to Head of Finance and Administration

Main tasks: Provide administrative and financial management services to the project; keep the required books of accounts for proper financial management; manage the accounting software to generate accurate and timely reports on budget and spending; ensure compliance to the policies and procedures enshrined in the Financial Manual including procurement procedures for services and goods; ensure the correct application of financial  tools and procedures as required by the donor agency; ensure adequate and timely communication with on financial matters; prepare timely budget utilization reports and variance analysis; Support block grant system towards Zonal and Woreda Government; Coordinate and manage pooled vehicles management system; ensure proper functioning of administrative assets and systems; and vehicles feel management system; and adherence to local safety and security plan/protocol.

Contract duration: Subject to approval by the donor; starting date 1st November 2020 till 31st December 2022) (renewable)

Salary & benefits: As per the salary scale of the position and benefit packages for national staff (NPR 2018).

Job Requirements

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

  • A minimum of BA degree in accounting and finance; a minimum of 5 years  of experience at supervisory level on finance and administration functions;  computer literate; experience and  skill in working with accounting software programs; excellent organizing and facilitation skills, good command of English language (written and spoken); ability to communicate effectively; handle stress and to work under pressure to achieve results; excellent ability of intercultural mediation; and confidentiality and flexibility. Work experience in an international NGO and donor agencies at financial/administration supervisor role is advantageous.
