As an International Christian Humanitarian Development organization, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is trusted to deliver community service through its 58 Area Development programs (APs) located in seven regional states of the country.  Currently, WVE envisions a thriving organization where our improved business processes come together to transform and model organizational leadership built on sustainable practices. WVE is looking for persons who fulfill the following qualifications.

Major duties and Responsibilities

Program Execution and Standards:

ü  Facilitate the development and proper execution of annual operational plan.

ü  Preparation of program/project implementation reports and follows up with DM&E schedules focusing on execution per defined standards.

Stewardship and Accountability:

ü  Monitor and evaluate programs for quality and sustainability and enforce stewardship and accountability through efficient and effective utilization of resources (human, material and financial).

Sponsorship:

ü  Ensure the integration of Sponsorship in Programming (SiP) and child protection in the annual operational plans and strengthen the engagement and empowerment of children, families and communities in the sponsorship business processes for effective and efficient results.

Transformational Development:

ü  Facilitate a transformed world view for the communities we serve and empower the members to own their development through building confidence and capacity to utilize available resources to improve their lives.

Working in partnership with others:

ü  Facilitate networking relationship with stakeholders in the community, including Government, other NGOs, community and other faith-based organizations.

People Management:

ü  Coordinate and facilitate performance management and ensure a high performance culture among the Area Program staff ensuring staff engagement, accountability and responsibility.

ü  Promote excellence in execution through recognizing high performers.

ü  Provide technical support to build the capacity of frontline staff.

Job Requirements

  1. Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in a relevant field.

BA/BSc. In Development studies, or in relevant social science field of study

                                       

  1. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years managerial experience with technical knowledge & skill in designing, planning, and implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated development projects. and at list 2 years of experience in managing complex grants and programs/projects with significant experience in overseeing large multi-year programs.

  1. Technical Skills and Abilities

o   A strong development professional with experience in integrated development programming at the field level and a passion for improving the wellbeing of children.

o   Demonstrated ability in people management and teambuilding.

o   Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex matrixes organization.

o   Strong partnership and external engagement skills, including building relationships with government, NGO, community and faith-based partners.

o   Strong financial management experience with diverse funding sources.

o   Ability to incorporate Disaster Risk Management and emergency preparedness and response into programs.

o   Strong planning and program design skills.

o   Excellent written and spoken English.

o   Excellent computer skills, including strong ability to utilize Microsoft Office.
