Title: Area Team Leader – South Sudan

Reporting to: Country Director (1st Supervisor), Desk Area Manager (2nd Supervisor)
Main objective:
· Management and supervision of projects and timely implementation according to financial and programmatic frame;
· Supervise program budgets and evaluate financial programs effectiveness
· Contribute to AVSI South Sudan business development
· Build and/or improve systems to supervise and manage the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the program;
· Liaise with stakeholders, religious leaders, institutions, local authorities and donors for project implementation related matters
· Internal reporting to Country Representative
Specific duties
Internally:**
· Management of a local and expatriate staff team;
· Close supervision and monitoring of the finance, administration and logistics teams;
· Management and supervision of AVSI’s programs and their timely implementation according to financial and programmatic frame;
· Facilitate program development, through conceptualization, design, proposal and program initiation;
· Monitor security situation in the region and oversee implementation of AVSI security procedures;
Externally:
· Demonstrate vision and leadership in building a coherent strategic direction for the area, in line with AVSI South Sudan’s overall strategy;
· Liaison with all external stakeholders: donors, partners, the government, including local authorities, and communities;
· To act as a catalyst with all stakeholders to coordinate existing and new programs;
· Facilitation of needs assessment;
· Project/proposal development;
· To ensure external reporting requirements for projects are met.
Essential Requirements
Candidate profile:
· University degree, preferably in a topic related to project management or international development; a Master on Humanitarian Studies or African Studies an asset
· At least 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian / emergency contexts
· Fluent in English
· Previous experience in South Sudan an asset

· Solid leadership and staff management skills, with a record of managing large, diverse teams and contributing to the capacity building to national and international staff
