ActionAid Ethiopia would like to engage a consultant to assess Youth Engagement and Leadership for social change in Addis Ababa, Hawassa, Nazreth, and Bahir Dar.

Duties of the consultant

• Explore current contexts on youth (their overall priorities & concerns, engagement with government, challenges and opportunities with in the current political space)
• Assess level and quality of youth participation in decision making process on issues that affect their life.
• Identify key challenges of youth to engage with and influence the government
• Identify Strategies to engage youth with and influence the government towards youth priorities
• Identify available youth platforms representing youth and recommend more spaces
• Identify areas of youth capacity building on engaging on good governance
• Indicate future intervention areas for ActionAid
• Map possible partnerships for future youth engagement

Job Requirements

potential consultant should fulfill the following:

• Minimum of BA degree in governance, leadership, and other social science fields. MA Degree in similar field is preferable.
• Practical working experience with young people development and engagement
• Experience in Governance and civic participation
• Experience in Research related with young people and governance
• Understanding of the task and clear and feasible Methodology for the task
• Good contact with national and regional youth associations/platforms and youth led organizations both at Addis Ababa and in the stated towns and cities of the region is an added value
