Today, IMA offers extensive expertise in managing and implementing highly successful and complex donor-funded programs in reproductive health and family planning, nutrition, maternal and child health, health systems strengthening (HSS), malaria, HIV/AIDS, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). IMA has managed an average of $100 million annually over the last four fiscal years, through grants and contracts from FCDO, USAID, BHA, CDC, World Bank, the Global Fund, UNDP, MCC, and private donors.

About the Job:

IMA World Health, a member of Corus International, is seeking to lead and support the capacity building objective of this activity. The activity will result in improved access to and uptake of HIV services in supported health facilities and communities and the scale up of combination biomedical HIV prevention contributing to reduction in new HIV infections among high-risk groups, including key populations. The activity aims to: (i)Improve equitable access to use of quality comprehensive HIV prevention, testing, care and treatment services for people living in South Sudan, particularly targeting at- risk young men and boys, women and girls, and children. (ii) Maintain and continue quality comprehensive services for key populations at current locations and expand geographically as needed. (iii) Develop local partner capacity and prepare local partners for future direct funding.

The position will be based in Juba, South Sudan and will report to the project Chief of Party. Actual hiring is contingent upon signed agreement and USAID approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the project is fully aligned with and contributing to the realization of USAID’s Local Capacity Strengthening Policy.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the project’s local capacity strengthening strategy in collaboration with senior management team and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders at all levels in in the country.
  • Foster locally led co-design, development, implementation, and monitoring in collaboration with other partners.

Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in public health or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in designing and implementing organizational capacity building is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of USAID’s localization agenda and approaches, health system strengthening approaches, and gender programming.
  • Demonstrated experience in strengthening organizational and systems resilience in development, fragile, and/or humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in HIV prevention, Care and Treatment including children living with HIV (CLHIV), as well as experience in Key Population (KP) HIV services programming, preferred.
  • Awareness of USAID cooperative agreements, and the related policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Fluency in English, with strong written and oral communication skills.
