 The Chaplains are responsible for providing spiritual support as an umbrella of care, compassion, encouragement and support for all staff, associates, and volunteers working at the project site. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong Christian witness and have a heart for staff, volunteers and the community.  Also desired is management experience and the ability to be strategic and work well in a team environment.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Minister to those experiencing crisis/trauma/loss with a scriptural focus
  • Pray with those in need, providing spiritual comfort
  • Story-telling: you will be sharing Biblical studies with beneficiaries. Sometimes this will be for large audiences
  • Leading devotions
  • Report weekly to the Program Manager
  • Provide those being counseled with information on a church near their home
  • With a generous and serving spirit perform all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse

Education / Experience Needed

  • BA degree in Theology
  • Strong theological background
  • 1-2 years working experience as a chaplain

Skills Required

  • English and Amharic are required; Local Language preferred
  • Excellent  communication
