The CFO position is an executive position that reports to the CEO of Vitas Egypt. He/she will oversee all financial planning and accounting of the company as it gets off the ground and prepare for growth plans. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This position will be located in Cairo.
This position is open to Egyptian citizens and persons authorized to work in Egypt. No expat allowances are available for this position.
Responsibilities
Strategic Management and Planning
- Assists CEO with implementation of the company’s vision, mission, and overall strategy and direction.
- Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with company’s objectives.
- Provides leadership in evaluating and advising short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Responsible for raising capital by establishing and maintaining lines of communication with lenders and investors in conjunction with the CEO.
- Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities.
Operations
- Oversee and manage all aspects of financial risk; responsible for managing operational, legal and lending risk, and monitoring its potential impact on the company’s finances.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting of the company.
- Oversee a high-performing credit portfolio in line with the company’s growth-phase business plan and long-term sustainability.
- Drive digital finance plan in conjunction with CEO and COO to optimize operations, financial reporting and analytics.
- Oversee and approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, including all financial aspects of the company’s transactions.
- Comply with Board, regulator, audit and management directives; Work with internal auditor to identify risks and minimize fraud.
Department Supervision
- Manage staff in accounting, HR and IT departments; cultivate a positive environment of learning and professional development for staff
- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
Board and Shareholder Relationship
- In compliance with local law serves as a member of the board and reports to the board, delivering annual and interim financial reports on the company’s performance and strategy in line with shareholder expectations.
Start up phase
- Develop a plan and follow up on the activities in startup phase and assist CEO and COO in all respects
- Develop the first draft of Financial manual for initial phase and assist the Software Development team in customizing Vitas’ proprietary MIS Web Abacus to operationalize it for initial phase
- Deploy the general ledger solution
- Participate in development of digital tools and local technology partners to put in place efficient front and back office procedures and potential roll out of e-payment and e-wallets for clients.
- Carry out other duties as deemed necessary by CEO.

- Proven interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Proven leadership and good people skills; entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong familiarity with local economy and political environment.
- Natural communicator and relationship-builder, with excellent written and verbal skills in both English and Arabic.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
- 10+ years in in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in financial services or other relevant industry
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial management software
