The activity will identify and minimize the root causes of market failures and barriers that disadvantage vulnerable groups, women, and youth by excluding them from economic opportunities. In addition, MSR will create incentives for actors to invest in developing and sustaining productive relationships for the efficient delivery of goods and services and an improved enabling and regulatory environment for agricultural sector growth. This position will be based in Ghana. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the management and technical implementation of MSR, ensuring that it achieves the expected results
  • Lead MSR’s strategic planning for implementation, including annual work plans, while providing a vision for the activity
  • Serve as the principal point of contact and primary liaison with USAID, partners, and stakeholders for all matters related to the day-to-day management and implementation of MSR
  • Ensure MSR’s compliance with all contractual and administrative requirements in coordination with the home-office and operations/finance team
  • Manage project field staff
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the project, Chemonics, and the client

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience leading and managing complex development programs and multidisciplinary teams, preferably for USAID- or other donor-funded projects
  • Experience working within the agricultural or market systems sectors, preferably in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience facilitating communications and coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Experience in Ghana or West Africa preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in one or more Ghanaian language preferred
