Climate Change Policy Lead 293 views0 applications

The GROW campaign is about transforming the world’s broken food system so that it works for everyone. It is also about ensuring that the system is fit for a future where unequal access to natural resources and environmental challenges such as climate change, will make feeding the world even harder. This role will lead Oxfam’s policy and advocacy strategy development on climate change issues.

Our next Climate Change Policy Lead will require a range of skills and experience. You will have significant experience of successful policy, advocacy and research work in a campaigning context and demonstrable experience of impactful work on climate change issues/campaigns. You will be able to demonstrate clear understanding of all campaigning tactics and have worked with community groups/marginalised peoples. You will have experience in people management- supporting your team’s professional development, as well as informal leadership skills- being able to influence effectively in a matrixed environment. Experience of developing and managing budgets is also a prerequisite. You will also have demonstrable ability to ‘speak truth to power’, addressing and analysing power imbalances.

Our offer to you: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced policy advocate to lead a globally diverse team to achieve change at national, regional and global levels in support of climate change

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and we can end it for good.

To spread that change and make it last, political solutions are also needed to tackle the root causes of poverty and create societies where empowered individuals can thrive. We will always act, we will speak out, and we won't live with poverty.

Where we work

Together with our local partners, we work in more than 90 countries as part of the Oxfam International confederation, to tackle the root causes of poverty and respond to emergencies.

Oxfam is a movement of millions of people, all working towards one goal - an end to poverty for everyone.

We can take on the big issues that keep people poor - like inequality, hunger and climate change - if we each play our part, however small it may feel.
