Role overview

The Communications Manager will conceptualize, plan and implement the organisation’s internal and external communications. You will work hand in hand with the International Volunteer who is a Communications Specialist. You will support the specialist in maintaining, updating and innovating internal and external communication to keep VSO beneficiaries and partners informed , next to their presence at and information about events. Next to this, you will also support the Project Communication Specialist and Officer, in cooperation with the international Communications Specialist to ensure production of quality communication materials and information.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Qualifications (essential): Bachelor or Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a similar discipline.

Work experience: Three years of relevant professional experience is required, more is desirable;

Experienced in the use of Management Information Systems;

Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies.

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, next to editing skills. Also, experience in developing print and digital communications materials is highly recommended;

Sound working knowledge of digital and social media.

Additional: Experience in practical vocational training or in teaching methodology regarding vocational training is an advantage;

Experience in working in developing countries and the issues that can arise in such an environment can be of great advantage;

Proficient in design programs such as Photoshop and In Design.
