Program Summary:
Building Egypt’s Skilled Workforce will focus on interventions aimed at achieving the following results:
- Modernizing and improving the quality of Egypt’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system in order to develop the technical skills and capabilities demanded by a globally competitive private sector;
- Improving human resource management at the firm level and ensuring strong private sector engagement with the TVET system to maximize employment opportunities for graduates; and
- Improving the enabling environment through employment and labor market policy reform to address inefficiencies at local and national levels.
Position Summary:
Creative Associates seeks a Communications Manager for an upcoming workforce project in Egypt. The Communications Manager will be responsible for leading and guiding the public affairs operations of a USAID-funded project and managing the Communications Officer.
Reporting and Supervision:
The Communications Manager will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party – Operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications outreach plan that utilizes relevant channels for the dissemination of information on project activities and their results;
- Advises and counsels the staff on public relations techniques impacting program activities including potential problems and opportunities in the various communities served;
- Leads the drafting and dissemination of appropriate materials to the USAID Mission about the project that may be used on Mission web pages, other USAID Missions, visiting delegations and HQ;
- Writes and supervises the writing and disseminating of success stories, feature stories, news releases and selected reports (such as USAID quarterly and annual reports);
- Produces content for use on social media and manages these outlets;
- Identifies and works with outside contractors, such as photographers, videographers and other communications professionals, to meet the goals of program.
- Produces posters, signs, displays, media campaigns, etc.;
- Implements the USAID Branding and Marking Plan for the project;
- Supports the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) in consolidating the project’s reporting requirements;
- Ensures that reports are submitted to USAID on a timely fashion;
- Identifies and writes success stories that meet USAID’s standards;
- Organizes outreach events;
- Manages the Communications Officer as needed; and
- Collaborates with HQ Communications team.
Required Skills and Qualifications: - A minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in Communicationsor other relevant fields, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience;
- Experience supporting large project communications departments and activities;
- Experience in social mediamanagementand content production;
- Experienceindeveloping communications plans;
- Experienceintrainingand/ormentoring staff;
- Experienceindealing with media companies/organizations;and
- Fluency in Arabic and English, written and spoken, is required.
Desired Skills and Qualifications: - Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design programs.
