Specification & Scope of Requirements

We are looking for locally based consultant(s), ideally working for the same organization but who can deliver trainings in both Zambia and Zimbabwe. The consultant(s) need to be familiar with the feminist participatory methodology (FPAR). We have an academic partner on board, who the consultants will work closely but the consultant(s) will lead on the delivery of the trainings with the mentors and young women facilitators, including development of the training materials.

The consultant(s) will be expected to guide the process with the young women facilitators and produce the following deliverables:

Phase 1:

· Develop first FPAR training – the consultant would lead on the development of the materials with input on modules from PI and SOAS University. The data collection tools on which to base the training will be provided by SOAS University but the consultant will be expected to transform these into an engaging format for the training – that are age appropriate, accessible and understandable.

· The consultant will deliver a one-day training with Plan International female staff who will act as mentors to the young women facilitators in Lusaka and Harare. This will include developing and prepping the materials for the one day training and facilitating and delivering the one day training ahead of the training with the young women facilitators.

· The consultant will prepare the training materials and deliver the first four-day training to the young women facilitators in Lusaka and Harare.

They will also need to participate in the following activities:

· Plan International (PI) will lead on the child and safeguarding and risk strategy for this project but co-design/ input would be required from the consultant.

· The young women facilitators will deliver the in-location training with a wider set of girls, but Plan International staff will act as mentors to the facilitators and will guide them through the process. The consultant needs to be available via email or phone during this period of the in-location trainings should the mentors need support or advice during the week of the in-location training. The consultant will be pre-warned of the timings of these training and need to make themselves available accordingly.

Phase 2:

The following deliverable are required during phase 2 of the project:

· The consultant will lead on the design workshop materials for second FPAR training to young women facilitators with input from PI and SOAS University

· Deliver and facilitate a second FPAR training to the young women facilitators. The consultant needs to be aware that the mentors will be observing this training so they can support the young women facilitators in the in-location workshops but will not be actively participating.

· The consultant needs to lead a writing workshop with the young women facilitators to help gather information and highlight climate actions for a girl led report co-designed with Plan International .

They will also need to participate in the following activities:

· Provide input into the final technical report produced by SOAS University, particularly for highlighting the process undertaken and the experience of the FPAR process with the girls and their communities.

Please note, that given the ever-changing situation with COVID-19, all modules should be designed with the ability to deliver online as well as in person in case a face to face workshop is not possible.
