Amref Health Africa is one of the biggest international African based health development organization established in 1957 in Nairobi, Kenya. Amref Health Africa lives with a Vision of “Lasting Health Change in Africa” with a Mission Statement i.e. Amref Health Africa is committed to improving the health of people by partnering with and empowering communities and strengthening health systems in Africa. It is for Africa and committed to improving health and health care in Africa.
Amref Health Africa has formally been registered in Ethiopia in 1998 and started its full-fledged country program in 2002 with one project in Addis Ababa. Since then, the country program has grown both geographically and programmatically. At present, Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia has over 21 projects which operate in eight Ethiopian regions (Addis Ababa, Afar, Oromiya, Amhara, Gambella, Somali, Benishangul Gumuz and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region).
Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia started 2018 WASH SDG programme in the shashemene and Arsi Ngele district of Oromia region. Amref Health Africa is the host of WASH Alliance International (WAI). Together with Amref-Ethiopia, implementing partners of WAI are BBBC, IRC-WASH And Wetland International.
2. Description of intervention |
The overall objective of the WASH Alliance program is:
Improve social wellbeing of the intervention communities by providing sustainable improved and equitable WASH for all intervention areas.
Specific objectives:
– Improved behavior change interventions to result in increased demand for WASH facilities and practices
– Improved WASH services provision for enhanced availabilities of affordable and appropriate WASH products and services
– Strengthen WASH governance and institutional framework to result in local government enable efficient and effective delivery of inclusive and sustainable WASH services

Job Requirements
Evaluation team composition, skills and experience |
Extensive skills, experiences and qualification in applying qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, data analysis skills and facilitation skills and other relevant competencies – such as language proficiency and writing skills. Specifically;
Þ At least Master’s Degree in public health, epidemiology, demography or related field and demonstrated experience in household data collection and qualitative data collections,
Þ A renewed professional license for consultancy in similar tasks,
Þ At least five years of experience in undertaking similar surveys of health projects.
Þ Good knowledge with demonstrated practical working experience or research,
Þ Experience of effective interaction with local non-government organizations, government departments, and international organizations,
Þ Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English,
Þ Evidence of similar work in the recent past will be a key requirement.
Þ Local Language skills of data collectors,
Þ Minimum75% of the evaluation team composition is expected to be part of data collection
