Corporate and Microfinance Training Consultant
Job Summary: The consultant will support Mothers Groups (MGs) establish cooperative societies. As the turnaround time for the registration to the point of issuing certificates of registration last up to 90 days, the consultant will only be able train MGs, CSOs, WDCs, GSPHCDA and some SAQIP staff on the process of registration of cooperative societies and set up structures that will sustain the process. The consultant will in conjunction with GSPHCDA, WDC pilot some MGs and support the full documentation and other requirements for the registration of cooperative societies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The consultant will:
- Develop a guide on registration of MGs for cooperative societies.
- Conduct field visit to groups located in Dukku, Gombe, Yamaltu Deba and Biliri.
- Train selected WDCs, SMOs, MCHCs, CSOs, SPHCDA and SAQIP on cooperatives.
- Assist the selected Mothers Group trainees in compiling documentations required to register for a cooperative.
- Support the MGs/SMOs to submit the documents and other requirements at the registration body.
- Develop report on the consultancy.
Deliverables
- Written guideline on setting up cooperatives societies
- Full documents and other requirements for registration as cooperatives for 8 MGs in Dukku, Gombe, Y/Deba and Billiri LGAs.
- Detailed consultancy reports including Evidence of trained staff from SAQIP, WDCs, CSOs, and GSPHCDA.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of a Masters degree in Business management or related field.
- 5-10 years’ demonstrable experience in the field of cooperatives and Microfinance.
- Previous experience carrying out similar consultancy with an INGO.
- Familiarity with working in North East Nigeria.
- Ability to works effectively with team and has good interpersonal relationship.
- Demonstrate good report writing skills.
- Proficient with the use of computer software packages and data analysis tools.
