The Organization for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID) PVO 31/16 develops and implements innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services in Zimbabwe, by providing enhanced access for communities to comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment. OPHID, works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions. OPHID is looking for a suitably qualified and motivated individual to fill the following post:
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
(Harare, Zimbabwe- Reporting to OPHID’s Executive Committee)
Overall Responsibility
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic direction of OPHID and maintaining OPHID’s reputation as a key partner to the MOHCC in the field. S/he will be committed to the organisational vision, mission and objectives at all times. S/he will be in charge of resource mobilisation, and the development of strategic partnerships with other national and international organisations. Representation of OPHID and its values, will guide OPHID’s reputation and standing with the Zimbabwean community and international donors.
S/he will supervise and coordinate the planning, design and implementation of planned and anticipated programs and operational research studies, provide technical expertise and actively lead key phases of operations. The Executive Director will have full accountability for Human Resource, Finance and Administration Management in compliance with donor rules, statutory laws and contractual obligations at all times.
Qualifications/Expertise
ü Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development or related fields, with specialisation in HIV/AIDS being an added advantage. A MBChB or equivalent is also an advantage.
ü Minimum of 5 years non-profit/public service management experience in an executive leadership role in HIV/AIDS or a related public health field;
