As the Country Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) Manager, you shall be responsible for the below main responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities
- Contribute to risk management and operational planning support to enable rapid response to humanitarian emergencies and in hard-to-access areas of the Sudan
- Contribute to humanitarian access strategy development and implementation, including negotiated security assurances and civil-military coordination
- Contribute to broader NRC Sudan workforce plan, to improve national and female career development, diversity and inclusion
- Contribute to regional and global HSS policy, practice, etc.
Generic professional competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Security Manager in a humanitarian / recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driver’s license
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of the context in Sudan or East Africa (desired)
- Knowledge of Arabic language (desired)
- Experience with high-risk and emergency response humanitarian missions (required)
