As the Country Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) Manager, you shall be responsible for the below main responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities

  1. Contribute to risk management and operational planning support to enable rapid response to humanitarian emergencies and in hard-to-access areas of the Sudan
  2. Contribute to humanitarian access strategy development and implementation, including negotiated security assurances and civil-military coordination
  3. Contribute to broader NRC Sudan workforce plan, to improve national and female career development, diversity and inclusion
  4. Contribute to regional and global HSS policy, practice, etc.

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Security Manager in a humanitarian / recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license

Context related skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of the context in Sudan or East Africa (desired)
  • Knowledge of Arabic language (desired)
  • Experience with high-risk and emergency response humanitarian missions (required)
