The Role: DANIDA Second Chance Project Manager
Qualifications:
University degree in social sciences or in related field, Diploma with equivalent experience and at least 3-4 years’ relevant experience in development programmes, particularly those focusing on children.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Experience managing programmes that address issues affecting children and adolescents, which include community mobilization, advocacy and governance components.
* Experience in programming to address teenage pregnancy and support child mothers.
* Experience in working with local partners, providing monitoring and capacity building support.
* Strong skills and experience in all aspects of programme development, including proposal development, programme/project monitoring, review & evaluation;
* Experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and budget reviews;
* Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically;
* Strong writing skills with substantial experience in preparing project reports and other documentation;
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; able to build and maintain strategic relationships with government, partners and other stakeholders at all levels.
* Understanding of the national legal & policy framework for the protection of children’s rights;
* Experience in developing training materials with proven skills as a trainer/facilitator and mentor;
* Commitment to integrate gender, diversity and other power related issues into programme activities;
* Ability to be self-sufficient and resourceful; to build consensus and inspire others.
* Ability and willingness to travel to projects and stay in basic conditions;
* Strong computer skills: Word and Excel, PowerPoint, internet use
* Experience in working and/or engaging directly with children is an added value.
* Willing to commit to the values of Save the Children, including a child rights approach to programming.
CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 Months
