Job Summary:
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Sudan Program leads a consortium of six INGOs and 13 NNGOs as well as a university research partner to implement the Taadoud II: Transition to Development program.
The project runs for a total of 4.5 years: from October 2017 to March 2022. CRS and partners are reaching over 280 communities in 17 localities across all five Darfur states, directly targeted more than 170,000 households. Key components of Taadoud II include learning, ICT4D, equity (“leave no one behind”), participatory community monitoring and evaluation for community-based NRM, gender equity, and operational research.
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) manages and provides technical oversight of the development and implementation of Taadoud II, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place that support high-quality programming and advance CRS’ work in serving the poor and vulnerable.
Education and Experience
* Master’s Degree in International Development, International Relations, or in the field of Food Security and/or Natural Resource Management required. Additional experience may substitute for some education.
* Minimum of five years’ experience in relevant field-based project management roles required, with preferably at least 2 — 3 years working in the area of multi-sectoral, resilience-building, and development projects.
* Experience in managing moderately complex projects, preferably with an INGO, and demonstrated experience working in partnership with international donors including DFID (preferred), USAID, etc.
* Good experience in projects grant management, including project design, preferably for grants from multiple public donors including DFID.
* Demonstrated experience to write high-quality technical reports, proposals, and other material.
* Experience engaging with partner organizations, preferably at multiple levels (INGOs, universities, NNGOs, etc.).
* MEAL skills and experience preferred.
* Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), web conferencing applications, and information management systems.
Required/Desired Languages: Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing ability) required; Arabic capability will be an added plus.
Travel Required: Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time within Darfur to project sites.
