Yeast City Housing seeks to appoint a Development Manager, to be based in Pretoria.

Report to: Managing Director

This is a 12 months fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the organisations’ strategy
  • Identify new development projects
  • Develop cost effective plans and projects
  • Manage projects
  • Conduct risk assessments for all development projects
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion and commissioning.
  • Negotiate contracts with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure contractors adhere to contractual obligations and timeframes
  • Plan and arrange site visits
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders, government departments, municipalities, other NPO’s
  • Secure building permits and licenses
  • Ensure quality control of construction projects
  • Efficient management and control of budget of the projects

Requirements:

  • Project management
  • Financial management
  • Communications skills at all levels
  • Knowledge of the construction processes
  • Networking skills
  • Leadership
  • Ability to deliver under pressure
  • Takes initiatives
  • BSc. Civil Engineering; Project Management; Construction Management or any qualification in the relevant field of study – it must be NQF Level 7
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in Project Management or construction management
