Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

That means we tackle the inequality that keeps people poor. Together we save, protect and rebuild lives. When disaster strikes, we help people build better lives for themselves, and for others. We take on issues like land rights, climate change and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can enjoy life free from poverty.

We are an international confederation of 19 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

The Oxfam International Secretariat is currently headquartered in Nairobi, with offices in Oxford, Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.

All our work is led by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness. To read more about our values please click here

Oxfam is committed to preventing any type of unwanted behavior at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.

Note: All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and may be subject to appropriate screening checks, which can include criminal records and terrorism finance checks.

The Role

Are you a great communicator? Do you love mentoring and motivating people to get the most out of their digital tools? Have you got experience of helping communities come together online and find value in collaboration?

Then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team delivering our new global digital workplace that will enable Oxfam’s approx. 9 000 staff working in over 90 countries to find, connect and collaborate with each other effectively to further our fight against poverty.

Reporting to the Senior Business Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a coordinated engagement and change process that will help deliver a suite of collaboration services to communities of practice across the Oxfam confederation. The role acts as an interface between the project delivery team and its customers. You will be responsible for facilitating the onboarding of our internal customers and their champions to the services and you will work with them to drive increasing value from the tools. You will coordinate feedback loops with the internal customers and the wider Digital Workplace team to help drive further development roadmaps.

Our next Digital Workplace Business Engagement Officer will require a range of skills and experience.

As the successful applicant, you will be a highly capable business process change lead, with excellent written and verbal communications skills. You will use your strong interpersonal skills to influence and motivate staff in a range of roles. You’ll be excellent at guiding and mentoring people with a range of IT literacy and digital community engagement skills to successfully on-board into our Digital Workplace and then you’ll carry on the journey with them to build up their team’s capabilities to make the most of the tools on offer. You will need to be highly organized and familiar with project management methodologies, preferably with demonstrated experience delivering technology services in medium to large scale projects. A familiarity with Intranet platforms and cloud-based collaboration tools would be highly advantageous.

Finally, you’ll need to have a strong commitment to Oxfam’s mission and values, and you’ll need to work effectively in a multi-cultural and dispersed, virtual team environment.

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and we can end it for good.

To spread that change and make it last, political solutions are also needed to tackle the root causes of poverty and create societies where empowered individuals can thrive. We will always act, we will speak out, and we won't live with poverty.

Where we work

Together with our local partners, we work in more than 90 countries as part of the Oxfam International confederation, to tackle the root causes of poverty and respond to emergencies.

Oxfam is a movement of millions of people, all working towards one goal - an end to poverty for everyone.

We can take on the big issues that keep people poor - like inequality, hunger and climate change - if we each play our part, however small it may feel.
