Main objective of the role:

The aim of this position is to provide driving and logistical support to the South Sudan Office.

We are looking for someone who will

· Arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle;

· Driving staff to the field for activities and town running;

· Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions;

· Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed;

· Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders;

· Adhere to all traffic rules and regulation;

· Schedule regular car service appointments and report any mechanical issues;

· Book car wash and detailing services to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle.

· Maintain an up-date record of the log book (mileage, destinations, times & passengers, maintenance) for each trip in the book provided;

· Present proper receipts on any expenditure incurred on their vehicle to the Officer in charge

· Submit a written report if any damage is done or noticed on the vehicle.

· In liaison with the line supervisor, ensure that the Licenses are up-to date and that vehicles are well maintained and serviced on time as the need arises.

· Ensure that all vehicles are fitted with the necessary security apparatus;

We are looking for someone who has

· Proven experience as a driver in a busy NGO environment

· A valid driver’s license

· A clean driving record

· Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)

· Familiarity with GPS devices

· Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods

· Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage

· Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts

· A polite and professional disposition

· Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)

· A high school Certificate, a diploma is an added advantage

CBM (previously Christian Blind Mission) is an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. It is considered one of the world's oldest and largest organisations working in this field.[citation needed] CBM was founded in 1908 by the German pastor Ernst Jakob Christoffel, who built homes for blind children, orphans, physically disabled, and deaf persons in Turkey and Iran. Initially CBM's efforts were focused on preventing and curing blindness but now cover other causes of disability.

CBM targets the people affected by disability by supporting local partner organisations to run programmes in the fields of healthcare, rehabilitation (community-based rehabilitation - CBR), education and livelihood opportunities. CBM also advocates for disability inclusion following UN guidelines in international policy-making bodies, and campaigns and raises funds through its member associations. CBM has an emergency response team to respond to conflicts and natural disasters.

CBM reached more than 31 million people in 2012. It supports more than 700 partner-projects in 70 countries and works with various partner organisations, including disabled people's organisations, mission agencies, local churches, self-help groups and relief agencies. It has (as of 2012) 11 member associations in Europe, North America and Oceania.
