For over 37 years, ADRA South Sudan has been making a difference in individual’s lives in one of the most difficult contexts in the world in both development and emergency contexts. In South Sudan, we implement programmes in three thematic programme areas of Education; Primary Health Care; Emergency Response and integrated programming including livelihoods, agriculture and protection.
JOB PURPOSE
The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the vision, strategy, design, implementation and management of the education program. The person will work closely with senior management team, other technical coordinators, operations and finance teams. The Education Coordinator will report to the Programs Director and will be based in Juba with frequent trips to the field.
JOB DESCRIPTION
· Ensure that all staff within the education program understand the purpose statement, slogan and values of ADRA SS.
· Coordinate, cooperate and communicate with other organizations to ensure synergy and to avoid duplication and waste.
· Contribute to the strategic vision, planning and quality implementation of the education program.
· Responsible for training and building the capacity of program staff in general management and project related education topics.
· Responsible for education sector budget management and expenditures and putting in place responsible accountability systems to ensure responsible and efficient spending.
· Coordinate and liaise with education authorities, NGOs, private sector actors and other partners including UN agencies on all education activities.
· Contribute to the expansion of the education program in South Sudan, including assessments, proposal developments, timely and quality reporting (Annual Work Plan, budget revisions, Performance Monitoring Plan revisions) as needed.
· Management and supervision of staff on a daily basis through recruitment, evaluation and on-the-job orientation. To undertake any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Education preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in implementing and managing basic education related projects.
- Previous work experience of post conflict situation and or complex emergencies preferably in Africa.
- Strong program planning, financial management, organizational and communication skills.
- Supervision and teacher training experience, specific experience training for national staff and local partners is an asset.
- Very strong report and proposal writing experience.
- This position is applicable to South Sudanese nationals only.
