This application is for (i) a highly experienced Emergency Response Manager. As crises multiply, intensify and prolong, it has become important and urgent to have high level emergency experts who will be:

  • help design a quality immediate and short-term response program that provides quality humanitarian assistance to the hundreds of thousands of girls and boys in Mali who need it most, in accordance with internationally recognized standards and Plan International policies.
  • identify and strengthen Plan International Mali’s key local human resources
  • identify donors and help develop winning proposals to fund our response programs
  • Assist in designing and implementing feedback and accountability mechanisms in operations and programming
  • help facilitate the effective and efficient implementation of programs that are responsive to the needs of vulnerable people
  • Help implement management tools that can ensure the monitoring of indicators and the achievement of the objectives of the various projects.

Responsibilities

1. Emergency Response Manager ERM

a. Coach and build the capacity of the Deputy ERM at the national office

b. Beginning of deployment of the OC Emergency Response Manual with CLT and Deputy ERM

c. Represent Plan International with national and international stakeholders, including

including donors and stakeholder groups

d. Contribute to the updating of the disaster preparedness plan

e. Contribute to the update of the ERP security crisis and COVID-19

f. Contribute to project design and proposal development

h. Contribute to recruitment of permanent ERM

i. Contribute to revising security plans, if necessary

j. Be an active member of CLT

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.

The NGO focuses on child participation, education, economic security, emergencies, health, protection, sexual health (including HIV), and water and sanitation. It provides training in disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and has worked on relief efforts in countries including Haiti, Colombia and Japan.

Plan International also sponsors the Because I Am a Girl campaign, which has published many stories focusing on the struggle of young women in the developing world.

Plan International was founded during the Spanish Civil War by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and aid worker Eric Muggeridge. When they witnessed the conflict change the lives of children, they founded ‘Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain’, which would later change its name to Plan International. Set up in 1937, the organisation provided food, shelter and clothing to children whose lives had been destroyed by the war.
