CTG overview

CTG staff and support humanitarian projects in fragile and conflict-affected countries around the world, providing a rapid and cost-effective service for development and humanitarian missions. With past performance in 17 countries – from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, we have placed more than 20,000 staff all over the world since operations began in 2006.

CTG recruits, deploys and manages the right people with the right skills to implement humanitarian and development projects, from cleaners to obstetricians, and mechanics to infection specialists, we’re skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Through our efficient and agile HR, logistical and operational services, CTG saves multilateral organisations time and money. We handle all our clients’ HR related issues, so they are free to focus on their core services.

Overview of position

  1. Activities include integrated community development projects, support to businesses, start-ups and Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
  2. Activities include technical assistance, peer-to-peer capacity building and the establishment of referral mechanisms and structures such as Reintegration Information Centers at the provincial level.
  3. Activities include medical and psychosocial screening and referral, temporary accommodation, and onward transportation.
  4. Knowledge development: Comprehensive data collection, trend monitoring, and research contributes to an evidence base on return, reintegration and development policy and practice.
  5. Activities include data collection and analysis to monitor results, impact and contextual trends, publications and roundtables

contribute to policy discussions at national and international level.

Role objectives

  • Support the M&E team in the timely and effective implementation of the field work of the Labour Market Assessment in line with workplan and the stated objectives,
  • Identify, coordinate, and set time for interview with the identified entrepreneurs in the market,
  • Contact individuals by telephone or in person and explain the purpose of the interview,
  • Conduct individual survey with the identified entrepreneurs, collect the data both quantitative and qualitative in nature using pre-designed Labour Market Assessment questionnaires,
  • Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the identified entrepreneurs; note, record, and transcribe the discussions taken place during the FGDs,
  • Ensure that all information relevant to the assessment and according to the pre-designed assessment forms is collected in a timely manner and is consistent with the information required for Labour Market Assessment,
  • Check information gathered for completeness and accuracy,
  • Undertake regular data collection from the field pertaining to the Labour Market Assessment and verify the collected data, using the triangulation approach,
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required; advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and data analysis in Excel is an added advantage,
  2. familiarity with M&E standards and practices of the UN is an added advantage,
  3. Strong multi-task prioritization, organizational, coordination and time management skills.
  4. Familiarity with skills development activities and labour force market demand.
