Position: Facility Nursing Coordinator Reporting to: Facility Manager

Purpose of Job. The Facility Nurse Coordinator oversees all aspects of care for the Children at the centre ensuring they develop to their full potential. He/she will deputise the Facility Manager and monitor the Children services teams carry out their daily duties, communicate and coordinate services with other departments. He/she may be required to work alternate shifts when called upon.Specific responsibilities: • Develop/implement policies and procedures to ensure the core standards of children are met • Maintain guidelines for nursing staff &care givers through orienting, training and counseling • Prepare regular reports of the children’s medical records • Participate in developing financial objectives, budgets & come up with corrective actions • Maintain nursing supplies, inventory and reorder levels ensuring efficient use of the same • Support the Facility manager maintain cooperative relationship among teams through communication and problem solving. • Complete patient care requirements by scheduling & assigning nurses /care givers follow up work • Maintain patient confidence and protect confidential information processing • Design and implement procedures that will ensure safe and clean operating environment for children and staff • Maintain professional/technical environment through organizing training and learning sessions for staff • Contribute to achieving team efforts by achieving set objectives • Ensure Children’s needs are protected at all times including nutrition education, privacy &dignity (especially as related to Children with Disabilities) • Plan and Participate in Children’s programs and activities as required. • Responsible for staff performance review committee meetings as needed and as appropriate. • Prepare periodic reports as required and as appropriate. • Deputize the Facility Manager and provide team leadership in the absence of the latter. Required Qualifications and skills • Bachelor’s degree or higher Diploma in Nursing • Holder of Certificate /Diploma in counselling • Demonstrated Administrative & leadership skills • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills • Good knowledge of Child Protection Policies and Policies affecting Persons with Disabilities • Demonstrated training/capacity building skills • Current Police clearance certificate

Other desired competencies • Leadership skills- ability to deliver results, develop self and others. • Analytical/critical thinker-problem solving skills, creativity and initiative • Team player-ability to engage, coordinate and facilitate other team members
