Job Description

Principal Function: The Field Office Coordinator will have the responsibility of managing and ensuring the smooth running of all the project activities pertaining to CPAR-Ethiopia’s Country Manager in accordance with general policies, procedures, budgets and instructions put forward by the Country Manager, the PAM is also responsible for the day to day performance of the Program Area site.

Required: 2 (one for each place)

Reports to: ESWA project manager

Specific roles and Responsibilities:

  • Effective management and implementation of project activities in accordance with the developed objectives and indicators, including oversight of project implementation, the provision of quality assurance and technical support, the leadership of community consultation processes and the development of clear work plans.
  • Lead project implementation, track and measure performance consistent with established and agreed practices.
  • Liaise with relevant local authorities; ensure that all relevant parties are kept informed of project/program area activities where appropriate.
  • Coordinate staff in field offices and contribute to joint planning and activity implementation based on established frameworks.
  • Represent CPAR to local authorities, fellow civil society organizations, and with external bodies as necessary in the assigned area.
  • Ensures the optimum use of human, financial and material resources of the project.
  • Ensures the timely preparation of progress and annual report of each project (activity/financial reports/as well as case studies).
  • Decides on management issues within the authority limit.
  • Performs other related activities as required.

Job Requirements

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement; BSc/BA in management, Public Health, Health Officer, or related fields with health background.
  • Five years’ work experience in coordinating, facilitating, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of health related projects.
  • Well acquainted with Ethiopian SRHR and Gender policies, plans and procedures.
  • Takes initiative and is goal oriented, demonstrates abilities to supervise staff.
  • Knowledge and experience working in different tiers of the health system in Ethiopia
  • Working experience in non-governmental organizations as a coordinator is advantageous.
  • Good communication and writing skills, is adaptable, flexible and resourceful, able to adopt an organized and methodological approach, sense of confidentiality.
  • Proven skills on drafting and preparing reports.
  • Languages – good English (written and spoken).
